For the Kylver Series, Wolfburn pair their most prized casks with a letter from the runic alphabet (which is comprised of 24 letters).
This particular sample box features the following Wolfburn Kylver releases: 3, 8 and 13:
Thurisaz– the 3rd release was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and hogsheads (50%).
Wunjo – the 8th release was matured in ex-Oloroso sherry Methuselah casks (52.8%).
Ihwaz – the 13th release was matured in ex-Islay peated quarter casks (54.3%).

Wolfburn – Kylver 3: Thurisaz (50%)
Nose: Wet granite. Cut grass. Ripe pears. Gummy bears.
Palate: Tangy fruits. New oak. Citrus zest.Walnuts. Brown sugar.
Finish: Nutmeg. Hint of liquorice. Cinnamon.
Wolfburn – Kylver 8: Wunjo (52.8%)
Nose: Fresh wet strawberries. Candied cherries. Cloves. Plums.
Palate: Dried red fruits. Dark chocolate.Rancio. Prunes. Star anise.
Finish: Oily leather. Redcurrant. Tart raspberries.
Wolfburn – Kylver 13: Ihwaz (54.3%)
Nose: Stewed apples. Honeysuckle. Sea spray. Light floral notes. Gentle smoke. Pear skins.
Palate: Dried figs. Mead. Cinnamon. Toffee. Marzipan. Nutmeg.
Finish: Interplay between smoke and spice. Further sweet honey and caramel notes to finish.
