At The Malt Library are big fans of Wolfburn and the Dornoch Castle Hotel Whisky Bar. This release might just be our favourite Wolfburn release…ever!
This is a 2014 vintage single cask Wolfburn that was bottled in 2018 exclusively for the Dornoch Castle Whisky Club.
Distilled in December 2014 this lightly peated whisky (10ppm) was matured in an ex-bourbon cask before being bottled in February 2018.
Limited to just 284 bottles this was bottled at a cask strength of 57.1%.
Our Tasting Notes:
Nose: Coal mine. Lemon peels. Hay. mixed nuts. Waxed jacket. Bonfire smoke.
Palate: Bruised apple skins. Earthy. Spent grains. Vanilla pods. White pepper.
Finish: Untamed and wild. BBQd citrus. Further bourbon notes. Wisp of smoke. Morven on steroids.
