Teaninich 1991 Vintage, Connoisseurs Choice – 30ml
This is a 1991 vintage 14 year old Teaninich that was matured in refill sherry casks and bottled at 46% abv in 2006 by Gordon & MacPhail for their legendary Connoisseurs Choice range.
Distilled in December 1991, this whisky spent 14 years maturing in refill sherry butts before being bottled in April 2006.
Teaninich is a true Highland workhorse distillery dedicating nearly all of its production to Diageo’s many blends. We believe this bottling is a great example of Teaninich’s intense oily characteristics.
Our Tasting Notes:
Nose: Mandarins. Sweet malt. Sour apples. Wet lawns. Butterscotch.
Palate: Waxy lime skins. Nutmeg. Dusty oak. Grilled peaches. Gentle smoke.
Finish: Wood spice driven finish with additional herbaceous notes.
Teaninich Distillery –Active
Founded in 1817, just outside of the northern Highlands town of Alness (also home to Dalmore distillery), Teaninich has long been one of the great workhorse distilleries of the whisky industry. The distillery has been a part of the Diageo stable of distilleries since the 1930s (then known as DCL) and continues to produce a terrific amount of whisky for Diageo’s many blending requirements.
Teaninich is known for producing an oily distillate that accentuates rich grassy notes.
