Strathmill 1986 Vintage, 16 Year Old, Signatory Vintage – 30ml
This is a fantastic single cask 1986 vintage 16 year old Strathmill that was bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2003. An unusual find and a malt well worth trying from a distillery that is rarely bottled as a single malt.
The whisky was distilled on the 24th October 1986 before being bottled on the 3rd September 2003.
The whisky was bottled at 43% abv and limited to just 378 bottles.
Our Tasting Notes:
Nose: Lemon water. Custard creams. Ginger cake. Furniture polish.
Palate: Marmalade. White grapes. Soft vanilla. Kiss of pepper.
Finish: Creamy honey and gentle wood spice to finish.
Strathmill Distillery – Open
Built in 1892, Strathmill is rarely released as a single malt with the vast majority of production earmarked for blends. In fact it only has one consistent official release – a 12 year old that forms part of Diageo’s Flora & Fauna range (first introduced in 2001).
