Laphroaig Single Cask 1989 Vintage, 15 Year Old (bottled 2005) – 50% abv (30ml)
Ardbeg Single Cask 1991 Vintage, 15 Year Old Rum Cask Finish (bottled 2006) – 50% abv (30ml)
Bunnahabhain Single Cask 1985 Vintage, 16 Year Old (bottled 2001) – 50% abv (30ml)
Our Tasting Notes:
–Laphroaig 1989 Vintage–
Nose: Ash. Tar. Sriracha. Old candles. Crystallised papaya. Crispy bacon.
Palate: Intense peat notes supported by charred citrus and a slightly salty kick. Tobacco. Smoked salmon. Dry wood.
Finish: Coal tar. Further bacon notes. Touch of sulphur. Earthy finish.
–Ardbeg 1991 Vintage–
Nose: The nose is a wonderfully obnoxious blend of smoke and spice. Oily leather. Vanilla ice cream. Hay bales. Cooked jackfruit.
Palate: Rich BBQ sauce. Flame grilled pineapples. Candied citrus. Paprika. Dry peat.
Finish: Figs. Additional leather. Long dry and smoky finish.
–Bunnahabhain 1985 Vintage–
Nose: Fresh early morning coastal walk. Canned fruit syrup. Wet seaweed. Cooked ham. Toasted rye bread.
Palate: Cornflakes. Soot. Almonds. Turf. Green tomatoes. Sea salt. Gentle oak.
Finish: Charcoal and salted nuts to finish.
