Inchgower 12 Year Old, 1980s bottling – 30ml

£11.00

This is a unusual 1980s official distillery bottling of the Inchgower 12 year old. This release was bottled at some point during the 1980s by then owners Arthur Bell & Sons (Inchgower is an integral component of the Bell’s blend).

The whisky was bottled at 43% abv.

Our Tasting Notes:

Nose: Immediate tropical fruit presence – think guava and papaya. Faint coastal notes. Classic shortbread. Burnt hay.

Palate: Mango pulp. Cinnamon. Apple pie. Dusty oak. Vanilla sponge.

Finish: Dry oak. Gentle smoke. Faint re-emergence of salt.

Inchgower Distillery – Active

Gaelic for Island of Goats, Inchgower was Founded in 1871 and is an integral player in the Speyside region.

Inchgower’s malt heavily features in many blends (predominantly Bells and Johnnie Walker) and the distillery produces a brilliant new make that contains a distinctive combination of spice and coastal salinity.

It has been said only about 1% of Inchgower’s whisky is released as a single malt.
