This is a Glen Keith 1995 Vintage 17 Year Old single cask release by French independent bottler Part Des Anges (The Angels’ Share).
Distilled in 1995, the whisky was matured for 17 years in a fresh ex-bourbon barrel before being bottled in 2013 at a natural cask strength of 55.5%.
This was bottled for Part Des Anges’ Closed Distilleries range, a series that specialised in single cask releases from lost and mothballed distilleries around Scotland.
Glen Keith distillery was mothballed in 1999 before being reopened the same year that this bottling was released – 2013.
Our Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fresh and vibrant. Orchard fruits galore. French pear tart. Crisp green apples. Summer evenings. Gentle sandalwood. Earthy funk. Light distant smoke.
Palate: Old fashioned soaked orange peels. Oak spice. Greengages. Marmalade. White grapes.
Finish: Dry herbs. Warming oak. Ginger pieces. Aniseed. Subtle salted liquorice presence.
