This is a fantastic old school Dallas Dhu 10 Year Old mid 1980s bottling by Gordon & MacPhail that was intended to be imported into Italy. For many years Gordon & MacPhail operated as the official bottler of Dallas Dhu.
Dallas Dhu distillery was unfortunately closed during the infamous 1980s whisky loch and filled its last cask on the 16th March 1983.
Bottled at 40% abv this contains lovely 1970s Speyside distillate from this terrific lost distillery.
Our Tasting Notes:
Nose: Oily orange peels. Dark chocolate with crystallised ginger. Brown sugar. Peach cobbler. Flower vase. Red apples.
Palate: Yellow fruits. Caramel brittle. Coal smoke. Banana skins. Dry oak spice. Walnuts. Strong black tea. Arrival of menthol towards the end.
Finish: Bitter oak spice. Dry compact earth. Tobacco. Further apple notes. Re-emergence of chimney smoke.
