This is a special one…Early 1970s distilled Bowmore.

This Bowmore 15 year old ceramic bottling was released in 1988 to coincide with the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival and contains circa 1973 distilled whisky. It’s a fantastic example of the legendary tropical fruit notes that Bowmore was famed for during the 1960s and 1970s.

The whisky was bottled at 40%.

Our Tasting Notes:

Nose: Wine gums. Dried mango. Thread of smoke. Sweet barley. Linseed oil. White chocolate. Icing sugar.

Palate: Campfire ash. Pineapple skins. Mango chutney. Bonfire smoke. Saline presence. Dry peat. Old leather. Earl grey.

Finish: Grapefruit rinds. Gentle bitter chocolate. Earthy wood. Subtle salted liquorice.
