This is a Ben Nevis 1996 vintage 11 Year Old single cask release by the Scottish Liqueur Centre as part of their Beinn A’ Cheò (Hill of the Mist) series.
Distilled 28th November 1996 this spirit was matured in cask no. 2112 before being bottled on the 18th September 2008. The whisky was bottled at a cask strength of 57.5% and limited to just 300 bottles (this is bottle number 20).
Nose: Greasy cafe griddle. Dirty oil. Petrol fumes. Bacon fat. Dark cherries. Damp dunnage. Industrial glue. Beef jerky. Greek yoghurt. Stewed fruits.
Palate: Intense. Feral. Entirely undomesticated. Serrano chilli. Green tomatoes. Melted gummy bears. Prosciutto. Raspberries. Prunes. Lychee.
Finish: Raisins. White pepper. Bitter chocolate. Re-emergence of cherry.
