This is a single cask Ben Nevis 1990 Vintage 8 Year Old bottled by Cadenhead’s for their Authentic Collection. The whisky was matured in a single ‘bourbon butt’ for 8 years before being bottled in July 1999.
This release was bottled at a natural cask strength of 67.9%!
Our Tasting Notes:
Nose: Squashed blackberries. The sweaty leather sofas in a mechanics waiting room. Rich notes of dried raisins. Salted cashews. Apple cores. Soft fudge. Midsummer hedgerows.
Palate: Red berries on the attack. Cinnamon sticks. Boozy mince pies. Sage. Tangerines. Raw honey.
Finish: Star anise. Blueberries. Toffee brittle. Shaved ginger. Strawberry skins.
