Balblair 2000 Vintage 1st Release – 30ml
This 10 Year Old was the 1st release of the Balblair 2000 Vintage that was bottled in 2010, and was an early entry into Balblair’s much loved Vintage series that was eventually replaced by an age stated core range in 2018.
The whisky was matured in first fill American oak casks and bottled at 43% abv.
Our Tasting Notes:
Nose: Prominent honey and barley notes up front followed by poached pears and rich tea biscuits.
Palate: Further silky honey notes. Floral presence. Vanilla custard. White pepper. Spiced apples.
Finish: A harmony of sweetness and spice on the finish with notes of star anise and melons.
Balblair Distillery – Active
Founded in 1790, Balblair is one of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland. The distillery is situated in the beautiful Highland village of Edderton located on the shores of the Dornoch Firth.
Balblair produces a fruity new make and the majority of its whisky is matured in ex-bourbon casks and American oak hogsheads – only about 5% of Balblair’s whisky is matured in ex-sherry casks.
