This set of three 30ml samples contains a brilliant single cask Ardbeg, an oil heavy Teaninich and a dram from the lost Highland distillery Lochside, during the final years of production at the distillery.

Ardbeg – 1991 Vintage, 15 Year Old rum cask finish – Old Malt Cask

A 1991 vintage single cask 15 year old Ardbeg that was bottled by Douglas Laing for their Old Malt Cask range in October 2006.

The whisky was matured in a rum finished barrel, bottled at 50% abv (like all other Old Malt Cask releases) and limited to just 312 bottles.

A 1991 vintage, 15 year old Teaninich that was matured in refill sherry casks and bottled at 46% abv in 2006 by Gordon & MacPhail for their legendary Connoisseurs Choice range.

Distilled in December 1991, this whisky spent 14 years maturing in refill sherry butts before being bottled in April 2006.

Lochside 1991 Vintage, 13 Year Old – Connoisseurs Choice

A 1991 vintage, 13 Year Old Lochside that was bottled in 2004 by Gordon & MacPhail for their legendary Connoisseurs Choice range.

Ardbeg 1991 Vintage, 15 Year Old – Old Malt Cask

Nose: The nose is a wonderfully obnoxious blend of smoke and spice. Oily leather. Vanilla ice cream. Hay bales.

Palate: Rich BBQ sauce. Flame grilled pineapples. Candied citrus. Paprika. Dry peat.

Finish: Figs. Additional leather. Long dry and smoky finish.

Teaninich 1991 Vintage, 14 Year Old – Connoisseurs Choice

Nose: Mandarins. Sweet malt. Sour apples. Wet lawns. Butterscotch.

Palate: Waxy lime skins. Nutmeg. Dusty oak. Grilled peaches. Gentle smoke.

Finish: Wood spice driven finish with additional rich malt notes.

Lochside 1991 Vintage, 13 Year Old – Connoisseurs Choice

Nose: Fresh mango juice. Waxed jackets. Brighton rock candy. Gentle nutmeg. Fresh muffins.

Palate: Blood orange. Salted watermelon. Demerara sugar. Pine nuts. Rosemary.

Finish: Dry wood finish with a herbaceous kick.
